NHL.TV: Device for my LCD

Dear Community,

I am planning to take out an NHL.TV subscription for next season: I need a device that I can connect to my LCD.

Amazon Fire TV Stick
The community writes that the NHL.TV app does not work properly: Is this still the case? Does the app work better if you buy the latest stick (4K is not relevant for me as my internet is too slow anyway)?

Amazon Fire Tablet or another tablet
Disadvantage: I can't switch from the couch. Advantage: I can also use the device for other purposes.

iPhone
Not an option, as I need the device for other purposes.

Do you guys have any other ideas?
